NO MORE LICKS!

A few weeks ago I mentioned to friend how the ATM envelope-deposit process left such a bitter taste in my mouth. It's been a long time since we've had to lick stamps, so why has it taken BofA so long to improve the deposit experience? I suggested some elaborate self-adhesive folding flap solution, but I was missing the bigger picture. Do we really need to waste envelopes in the first place?

Yesterday I encountered the new BofA ATM for the first time. Progress!
The new design allows you to insert checks directly into the machine. It scans the check and immediately id's the amount with and on screen image of the check. AND it even prints out the image on your receipt. Awesome. There is also a new slot below the check deposit to insert cash directly.

This is a great example of holistically re-evaluating an antiquated system, instead of just applying band-aids.
(I've also since heard other banks have had this available for a while now..)
